Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy)
After numbing cream is applied, fine needles are rolled over skin surface to reach the dermis without damaging the epidermis. Tiny punctures stimulate a natural healing process, causing increased collagen and elastin production. The process causes a release of growth factors and increased blood flow in the treated area, ultimately reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin texture and decreasing pigmentation. Microneedling is safe for all skin types, and minimal risk of side effects or downtime.
Microneedling can be done using hyaluronic acid (allowing deep penetration of this intensely hydrating formula into the dermis) or exosomes (cellular messengers directing your own cells to produce more collagen and elastin - ask your provider for more details).
Botulinum Toxin Injection
Repeated contraction of facial muscles results in wrinkles of the skin. Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that temporarily blocks the nerve signal to targeted muscles to decrease their contraction. Injection of the neurotoxin can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and reduce the likelihood of future wrinkling. This neurotoxin has been proven to be safe and effective over many years of use in facial cosmetics and other medical indications.
Muscles typically treated include the frontalis (forehead lines), glabellar complex (“11’s”), orbicularis oculi (“crow’s feet”), and LLSAN (“bunny lines”).
Effects are usually noted within 3 days, with maximal results at 2 weeks. There is essentially no downtime and minimal likelihood of side effects (mild bruising or redness at the injection sites on the day of treatment are most common).
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels involve carefully applying topical solutions to the skin in multiple layers to loosen and remove layers of skin. A series of peels will reveal brighter, smoother skin underneath, even skin tone, decrease pigmentation, stimulate collagen production, and boost product absorption.
Services include both superficial and medium-depth peels. Deep peels carry a high risk of complications such as infection and are not indicated for the majority of cosmetic patients.
Note: At-home and esthetician peels have pH limits that do not allow them to penetrate as deeply as medical-grade peels.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are typically made of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to plump and hydrate the skin. Most common uses are to smooth wrinkles around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds, marionette and smile lines) or create volume in the lips or cheek areas. They are temporary, lasting around 6-12 months before being resorbed by the body.
Biostimulants
Biostimulators (Sculptra, Hyperdilute Radiesse) are compounds that are injected to stimulate your body’s natural production of collagen. This enables us to provide volume and smooth wrinkles for those looking to remedy loose sagging skin and loss of fullness in the face. The results are gradual, long lasting and natural in appearance. Biostimulators are applied in a series of injections 4-6 weeks apart and are best for patients who are looking for a gradual, natural improvement of the aging face.
Professional Skin Care Management
Professional skin care management utilizes medical-grade topical formulations to improve and rejuvenate skin quality. When combined with minimally invasive procedures, results are enhanced and achieved more rapidly. A tailored regimen typically includes a cleanser, moisturizer, and targeted serum or cream selected to address specific dermatologic concerns.
Microneedling for Hair Loss
Hair loss in both males and females can be treated with exosome technology in our office. Exosomes are cellular messengers that promote hair growth by stimulating hair follicle stem cells to move into the active growth phase. Dormant hair follicles are activated, reducing scalp inflammation, improving blood circulation to scalp and protecting hair follicles from damage. Exosomes are delivered most effectively with microneedling which helps them penetrate deeper into the scalp. The microneedling treatment itself further stimulates circulation and collagen production in the treated area which rejuvenates the hair follicles. The goal is for gradual, natural looking improvement in hair growth over many months with serial monthly treatments.
